Well, we've done this year’s April production and what a great show Holiday Snap turned out to be - the words aisles and rolling spring to mind.

We will be performing a short play as part of the Burley Summer Festival taking place in the last week of August 2010. This will be "Meat and Two Veg". Tony Wade is currently rehearsing this with Lesley Hoyle, John Wright and Dick Gallagher playing the three roles in this very amusing one act play. Albert and Arthur are neighbours and competitive gardeners. Things take a darker turn when Arthur and Margaret are suspicious about Albert’s smelly bonfires and the prolonged absence of his wife, Enid. The play will be performed in Queens Hall on Thursday 26th August 2010 alongside a one act play by Paperzoo, a Bradford based semi-professional theatre group. 20/20 Vision is a new production and is being staged prior to its performance at the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe 2010. The production explores what happened when the technology we rely on fails. When a natural disaster strikes, the people at the end of a help line are suddenly faced with having to listen to one another. The cost for the evening is £7.

Also not to be missed in the Burley Summer Festival is the Jazz Evening with Beverley Beirne-Smith, in the Queens Hall on Saturday 21 August 2010. Beverley is a gifted jazz singer and will perform a selection of standards and little known gems, accompanied by four of the UK’s finest jazz musicians, Graham Hearn (piano), Ian Mann (bass), Ronnie Bottomley (Drums) and Mike Cox (Tenor Sax). There will be a champagne reception at 7pm followed by the concert at 8pm. Cost: £7.50, concert only, £12.50, champagne reception plus concert. Pantomime: This will be staged in late January 2011 and is to be ... Cinderella.
