be a play of a very different kind. This will be ..... Holiday Snap which will be
directed by Joan Newman and performed on 22-24 April 2010
Ah! Sun, sea and sand. A white-washed villa abroad. The perfect setting for a summer
holiday. Or better still for a somewhat illicit rendezvous with the one you love.
That’s what Leslie has in mind when he takes the curvaceous and eager Eve to Portugal.
But what Leslie has not reckoned on is there’s always one mosquito bite on any holiday!
– the absent-minded villa manager, ex-naval Commander Chittendon, whose waywardness
isn’t helped by his penchant for the gin bottle. The Commander’s inefficiencies invariably
mean all Leslie’s plans for sunny days and romantic nights go hilariously awry. Chitto
is unaware throughout he has double booked two couples. They in turn assume the other
couple are servants. The arrival of other characters intensifies the chaos & subterfuge
the couples are forced into.
